Tuesday Morning 22nd June
Dear Mother and Family,
Hullo! everybody, its nearly
12 o’clock
, it’s a beautiful morning and I’ve just climbed
out of bed – reminds me of Sunday mornings at home, what? Lazy type, mainly
because he’s abit of a night bird these days, barging about the place in total
darkness and sleeping in total daylight. By the way, just in case this arrives before my letters, I hereby state
heartiest congrats and all the best to Margaret and Bob and long may she reign – see what Bob says about that. Guess they’ve stolen a crafty year or so on
Nan
and I, but we’ll catch up in rapid time when this war
is over. Been away just lately for a bit
over a week on a course where we digested bags of “gen”
and our crew is now highly and fully organised – we reckon. Can’t cover much detailed news in these airgraph efforts but will write a long letter soon, telling
of all my doings for the last couple of weeks. NB. CONFESSION – haven’t written for a couple
of weeks but are now attempting to catch up again. Very glad to hear my English letters have
finally started arriving Mum – here’s hoping they keep it up and now before I
smack into this bottom line I’ll wish you all the very best and bags of love to
all
from Sid xxxx
